The Gershon Review

On 24 November 2008, the Australian Government adopted all of the recommendations in Sir Peter Gershon's review into the Australian Government's use and management of information and communications technology (ICT).

The review, which was commissioned by the Australian Minister for Finance and Deregulation, Lindsay Tanner, suggested that the government improve ICT governance, increase efficiency in ICT operations, better manage its skills base, conduct data centre planning, interact better with industry and ensure that its ICT operations are sustainable.

The report specifically referenced PRINCE2®, MSP® and ITIL® as tools which have produced benefits for other Governments.
