The PRINCE2® Examination Board has determined that all PRINCE2 Practitioners should be re-registered within 3-5 years of their original certification. This re-registration comprises a 1-hour examination set at the same standard as the Practitioner examination. All Practitioners who will be taking the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification after 1st January 2010 will be agreeing to this requirement as part of their initial application and so are now designated as Registered Practitioners.
Practitioners certified prior to January 2010 have the opportunity to take the re-registration examination in order to demonstrate their commitment to professional development. This is particularly important following the recent upgrading of the PRINCE2 Manual and its greater focus on Business Case and the Management of Risk.
Those who qualify after January 2010 or have voluntarily undertaken the re-registration qualification are designated as Registered Practitioners, which enables Employers and prospective Employers to be confident with their recency of knowledge and commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
The Re-Registration Examination can be taken in paper format or online at www.apmg-exams.com. Many Accredited Training Organisations (ATOs) offer briefing sessions to bring Practitioners up to date and help them to prepare for the examination. Details of the training organisations can be found on the ATO Listing page. For further information on the process for taking the Re-Registration Exam please email info@apmg-australasia.com.
Candidates can choose to take either the PRINCE2 2005 Re-Registration Examination or the PRINCE2: 2009 Re-Registration Examination until the 2005 edition is retired on 2nd April 2010.
Don't forget, taking the Re-Registration Examination entitles you to one year's subscription to pm4success, as well as retaining your Registered Practitioner status.
